If, like me, you find maths a nightmare & get a headache just thinking about numbers then these FREE courses could be for you. They take the fear out of maths, help you easily understand what you need to know so that you have practical life skills & grow in confidence when dealing with numbers.

If you would like to improve your Maths, and like me, get palpitations just thinking about numbers - then it's worth checking out these free courses offered by Wandsworth Lifelong Learning.
There are two courses on offer: both Level 1 and Level 2 courses.
When you register apply for "Functional Skills Maths" and Wandsworth Lifelong Learning will give you a ring later to help work out which one is best for you.
Functional Skills Maths is a 12 week programme that can help build your skills and confidence, some of the topics that will be covered include:
- working with fractions
- decimal places
- percentages and ratios
- conversion
- measurements
- volumes
- data tables
- probability and analysis
You will be supported through this development journey working towards passing the accredited qualification Functional Skills Maths Level 1 or Level 2
Functional Skills Maths Level 1 course

Functional Skills Maths Level 2 course
Functional Skills Maths Level 2 is accepted by many employers and higher education institutions as an alternative to a GCSE English 9 to 4 (A* to C).
This qualification is designed for learners who wish to develop their mathematical skills to help them gain the most from work, education and everyday life.
Through completing this 12 week course learners will be able to:
- using numbers and the number system
- whole numbers
- fractions and decimals
- percentages
- using common measures
- shape and space
- handling information and data
- Solving mathematical problems and decision making
It is important that all learners know there will be more coursework/self-directed study for them to complete with this course.

Eligibility & Initial Assessments To be eligible for the courses you must achieve the following initial assessment requirements: For Level 1 Maths – achieve Entry 3 or Level 1 initial assessment For Level 2 Maths – achieve Level 1 or Level 2 initial assessment
These courses are free for those who meet all the following funding requirements :
– you have lived in the UK or EU for at least the last three years or you are a family members of a UK/EEA national and fulfil certain requirements (discussed at your assessment)
– you live in a London /Greater London Borough
– you are not in full time education
– you have not achieved this qualification before
– you are aged 19 or older on 31st August 2021
